I am an independent filmmaker based in Fort Lauderdale, FL who is looking for an editor to do editing and color correction on a three minute AI-generated film. Experience with motion graphics and After Effects is appreciated. The film is about the last woman left alive after a nuclear apocalypse has destroyed Earth. I plan to submit the film to film festivals and seek distribution. Please email me a copy of your reel and include details about your rates. Producer for Podcast About Distribution for Independent Filmmakers
We are seeking an experienced audio producer to join our team and produce an interview podcast for a client focused on distribution for independent filmmakers. The candidate will be the main point person with the client and will lead all creative tasks with support from Moso Haus’s team who will provide creative feedback and project management. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the film industry, be skilled in audio production, and have a passion for creating informative and engaging content for a diverse audience.
Moso Haus (www.mosohaus.com) is a women-owned, black-owned audio production company. We produce content that makes us think, laugh, and reflect.
Responsibilities:
-Conduct research on various topics related to distribution for independent filmmakers and suggest potential topics for the podcast.
-Develop and pitch show concepts to the team and work collaboratively to finalize episode ideas and content, including creating and reviewing the final show treatment.
-Identify and book guests who can provide valuable insights and perspectives on distribution in the film industry.
-Conduct pre-interviews with guests to ensure they are well-prepared and can contribute to the conversation.
-Create interview preps for the host.
-Coordinate logistics for recording sessions, including scheduling, equipment setup, and audio quality control.
-Script and workshop any tracking for the host.
-Assist host during interviews and direct during tracking sessions.
-Edit and produce episodes to ensure high-quality audio and engaging content that aligns with the podcast’s brand and messaging.
-Follow the production schedule created by Moso Haus and adjust with the team when needed.
-Draft show description and episode copy.
-Stay up-to-date on film industry trends and changes in distribution strategies to inform future episode topics and content.
-Act as point person with client and work with team in a collaborative manner, with creative feedback and project management support from Moso Haus.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in film, media, or a related field.
-At least 3 years of experience in audio or film production.
-Deep knowledge of the film industry, specifically regarding distribution for independent filmmakers.
-Strong research skills and ability to identify and vet potential guests.
-Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
-Proficiency in audio editing software, such as Descript, Pro Tools, or in film editing software.
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Short Script Screenwriting Lab
Short scripts are a fantastic way to get your screenwriting feet wet, explore a new genre, hone your craft, and gain recognition within the entertainment industry. At least 4 winners will be invited to take part in our exclusive Virtual Shorts Lab to help define the next steps in their projects journey – whether that’s self-producing, crowdfunding, or connecting it with producers looking for short content. This year WeScreenplay is excited to partner with Talon Entertainment Finance who will select one project from this year’s submissions to receive a $10,000 short film grant. Talon Entertainment will also offer development mentorship and support to the selected project and writer. They will also review all of this year’s lab finalists scripts and meet with select finalists Late Deadline:

Operation Street Kidz is hosting its first script producing competition and is looking for submissions! WRITEGIRL IS SEEKING VOLUNTEERS! Support the voices of teens in Los Angeles! Volunteer as a writing mentor or help behind the scenes in supporting the work that WriteGirl and Bold Ink Writers are doing to inspire teens to develop their creativity and writing skills!
WriteGirl (
www.writegirl.org) is a creative writing and mentoring organization that empowers underserved teen girls in Los Angeles through mentoring relationships with women writers, hosting large-scale writing workshops at such places as the Huntington Gardens, The Autry and LACMA. Since 2001, WriteGirl has maintained a 100% success rate in guiding girls to not only graduate from high school, but also enroll in college.
