As AFI Alumni, you are invited to attend the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award honoring the legendary Nicole Kidman on April 27 at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Join us for this exciting Black-Tie event, which includes a private reception and Mezzanine 2 premier seating for the tribute show.
AFI FEST Announces Fall Dates and Call for Entries
Mark your calendars! This fall, the 38th edition of AFI FEST will be held Oct 23-27, 2024, exclusively in person at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Entries for the AFI FEST 2024 Short Film competition are now open and filmmakers are invited to submit fiction, documentary, experimental and animated short films. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recognizes AFI FEST as a qualifying festival for the Live Action, Animated and Documentary Short Film categories for the annual Academy Awards®. If you are interested in a submission fee waiver which we are extending to all AFI Conservatory Alumni, please reach out to our Alumni Affairs team at Alumni@AFI.com to receive your code.
Black Fellow and Alumni Networking Mixer
Save the date! In honor of Black History Month, the Lawrence Herbert Alumni Center is hosting a Black Fellow and Alumni Networking Mixer on February 27 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on the AFI Campus. Come join us at the Alumni Center, to make new friends, build a supportive community and expand your professional network. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided. AFI Conservatory Alumni are invited to sign up for one-on-one Design Office Hours with our friends from Canva who will be on campus February 13 at 2 p.m. to offer guidance and answer all of your visual communications and Canva questions. Bring your laptops and Canva designs with you! Tutorial topics will include:
- Resume content and design
- Pitch decks, portfolios and websites
- Setting up your Brand Kit in Canva
- General Canva product questions
- Anything design-related you’d like to cover!
