Alumni Reconnect at AFI Class of 2005 Reunion
Earlier this month, the AFI Class of 2005 Reunion welcomed 75 Alumni to the Lawrence Herbert Alumni Center for a night of celebration and reconnection. Highlights included Campus tours, a tree-planting ceremony and a presentation by the archivist on AFI’s history. Alumni enjoyed refreshments and received AFI FEST tickets, plus a free one-year Canva Pro membership.

AFI FRIDAY UPDATE
Directed by AFI Faculty Member Sean Mullin and produced by AFI Faculty Member Michael Connors, BROTHERS ON THREE, a West Point rugby documentary, will release nationwide in theaters today. The film also features the work of editor Devin Dulany (AFI Class of 2023), associate producers Rachel Weise (AFI Class of 2021) and Hector Martinez (AFI Class of 2024).

AFI Alumni Relations Executive Director Brian Udovich (AFI Class of 2004) will serve as executive producer on AMERICAN BLUE, a new cop drama just ordered to pilot by HBO Max.
Camila Pons del Toro (AFI Class of 2024) and Jessica Arzate (AFI Class of 2024) are among the filmmakers participating in Talent Demo 2025, an annual program giving emerging creators a unique opportunity to meet face-to-face with top industry professionals.
Jacqueline W. Liu (AFI Class of 2013) is leading Taiwan-based, female-led production company Each Other Films as it launches a slate of feature films, series and documentaries aimed at international audiences.
WME has announced the 2025 lineup for FutureFest, its student short film showcase highlighting diverse filmmakers. This year’s showcase will take place at the American Film Institute on Saturday, November 8. AFI Thesis Films DADDA by Aimee Hoffman (AFI Class of 2024) and THE HICKS HAPPY HOUR by Kate McCarthy (AFI Class of 2024) have been selected to screen.
Benedict Cumberbatch and David Thewlis star in THE THING WITH FEATHERS, a new feature film executive produced by Thomas R. Burke (AFI Class of 2016). The film is set to release in theaters in the U.S. and U.K. later this month.

Two-time Oscar winner Kim Magnusson (AFI Class of 1991) is producing the upcoming short FIRE LILY. Magnusson is producing the film alongside British music star Alesha Dixon, actor/producer Theresa Godly (BRIDGERTON, LAW & ORDER) and Joyce Allen from Women in Film & Television Ohio.
