HERARTS FILM LAB

HerArts Film Lab is a week-long residential development workshop, set in Paestum, Italy, focused on content created by women and non-binary filmmakers.
The workshop is addressed to female and non-binary writer-directors from all over the world interested in developing their feature film and TV series projects in a friendly and supportive environment under the guidance of experienced mentors.

The Sally Menke Editing Fellowship will include the following elements:
Two editing mentors; collaboration with Sundance Institute staff to identify the mentors who will be available from July 2026 through May 2027. You will engage in monthly meetings with one or both of the mentors for advice on the editing process and potential opportunities for career development. When appropriate, there might be a key moment to observe mentors at work during an essential part of their process.

The Rooftop Films Summer Series — our signature program of new, independent films — runs annually from May to September, featuring daring new films, all screened outdoors, in front of big, loyal audiences in parks, piers, and on rooftops overlooking the greatest city in the world. Tens of thousands of people attend Rooftop Films screenings every summer, making it one of the most popular festivals in New York City and one of the biggest festivals for independent films and short films in the world.

Now in its 24th year, we focus foremost on finding writers representation, supporting diverse voices, championing ambitious storytelling, and pushing original projects into production.
We’re currently the only competition offering an intensive, personalized process to our Quarterfinalists and higher: 1-on-1 development, long-term mentorship, career guidance, and circulation to only the leading industry execs. NEWFILMMAKERS LOS ANGELES MONTHLY FILM FESTIVAL

NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA) presents the NFMLA Monthly Film Festival, a uniquely intimate opportunity that provides a filmmaker focused festival approach by an intently devoted team. The model, a monthly festival with a very small number of official selections per month, generally fewer than 20, provides filmmakers with maximum attention and commitment from the Festival audience, participants and staff. This format allows NFMLA to serve a similar number of filmmakers as most annual Festivals (average of 220 per year), while being able to dedicate its efforts to a core group every month throughout the year.
