OPPORTUNITIES

We’re entering our sixth year of our WAVE Grant, which stands for “Women At the Very Edge” and is devoted to helping emerging women and non-binary BIPOC filmmakers tell their story, fostering their unique perspectives and audacious voices. Each year, we select five recipients to receive year-long mentorship and a $5,000 seed grant for the production of their first short film. With 100% of grantees working in the industry today, our graduates have gone on to direct their first feature, work for companies like Netflix and FX, write plays produced Off-Broadway, and premiere their shorts at festivals like SXSW, Tribeca, and more.

We’d like to broaden our applicant pool to groups like yours and get the word out on the opportunity for the 2025 cycle, which is open now and will close on Nov 15th, 2024. If you’d like to hear more about the submission requirements to share with your students and/or network, I’d love to chat further.
